A recent Ebay find. First is a color slide of the station 1966 in which at the
last minute of a bidding war I lost out, but managed to save a copy.
The second one is a black and white, but won this easily from EBay a few days later. Photo taken 7 December 1952 looking west.

In 1952 the station was only 4 years old.

Thanks for info when new one was built, making it around 1948
replacing what appeared to be an old wooden structure.
I think 1948 was the last year of the steam locomotive on the LIRR.
One could hear the chugging and hissing as far away as St Johnland
back in the 40's.
